Bed & Breakfast
Your hosts are Guy & Veronique and we welcome you to our beautiful countryside eco-retreat in Faverolles-en-Berry. We are a french married couple who have been together for 37 years. We left Paris in 1998 to discover the world with our three children. We had the chance to live in New Zealand for 12 years. It was a great experience and during that time we had the opportunity to experiment a number of Bed and Breakfasts which gave us the idea to create a place of our own back in our home country "France".
We decided to come back to France a few years ago to renovate our 5 generation family farm in the Loire Valley. We wanted to bring back a piece of New Zealand with us and so we decided to name our Bed and Breakfast "Pukeko Nest"! If you dont already know, a Pukeko is a New Zealand native bird. We have designed our Bed & Breakfast around this beautiful bird and hope you will find it as special as we do!
Our relaxing tranquil countryside eco-retreat is a place of bliss. If you are looking to escape the busy city life well this is the place for you. We are very eco-friendly and therefore we have a vegetable garden and grow our own organic produce. We also have an orchard on the border of the forest where you can go for a wonder and be surrounded by nature. Veronique makes her own bread, pastries and spreads for you to enjoy at breakfast time.
You will feel special and nurtured after a day or so at the Pukeko Nest.
It’s like being at home, only better.
See you soon!
We provide all our guests with breakfast which includes homemade breads, spreads and a selection of beverages.
We provide a laundry service at an extra cost for your convenience.
For your convenience we can organise a packed lunch for you at an extra cost. We highly recommend this option if you are going to the Zoo de Beauval.
Complimentary WiFi is provided during your stay at the Pukeko Nest B&B. However please note that due to our geographical location we cannot always guarantee a strong connection.
THINGS TO DO
Zoo de Beauval
The Loire Valley has some of the finest zoos in France, with 'Zooparc de Beauval' listed as one of the 15 most beautiful zoos in the world. No matter which part of the area you choose as a base you will have a park within a short drive. What the parks here have tried to achieve is as natural a habitat as you can have, given the restrictions, for the animals to live.
Located in Montrichard, a few minutes away from Chenonceaux, discover this unique site within one of the largest cave in Touraine.
The tour starts outside with an exceptional viewpoint on river Cher and the « Valley of the Kings ». Between art and history, the fantastic world of the Cave aux Lumières takes the visitor into a colorful and timeless universe, where the walls are covered with some breathtaking works of art, giving an unusual view of the Loire chateaux and their architecture.
Chateau de Chambord
Perhaps the most famous of the Loire Valley chateau. You can cycle or walk the grounds via the marked out paths but even the shorter walks can take over an hour, such is the size of the park. You can also ride horses or take a horse-drawn cart from the stables where, during the summer months, there is an equestrian show.
Séjour parfait, dans une maison très agréable et une chambre magnifique et confortable. Petit déjeuner très bon et de qualité
Hôtes très gentils et serviables.
Je recommande fortement !
